Tessa Archer

Biography

I am a local artist in Strathmore and this is my first exhibition. I first discovered art when I was 15 years old as a way to escape trauma. Throughout high school I took every art class available to grow my skills and to discover new mediums. After acceptance to ACAD on a full scholarship, I completed one year after realizing art is not a job, it’s my passion, and it’s a part of me. I enjoy challenging myself by using an array of mediums from acrylic, oil, water colour, pencil crayon, marker, and graphic pencil. I’m not afraid to use more than one type of medium to create my wanted image. My inspirations are Paul Cezanne and Vincent Van Gogh. I particularly envy their use of colour and texture which is noticed in my work. I hope to grow as an artist as I continue to experiment with mediums and challenge my imagination.
