Elaine Wheeler– born and raised in South Africa– acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and English Education at the University of the Orange Free State in 1992. Soon following she moved to the Calgary area, more specifically, Wheatland County, where she has resided with her husband Scott ever since. They have two grown daughters - their pride and joy.
‘Philocaly’ means ‘ the love of beauty’. This is precisely what draws Elaine into continual discovery. This is the first exhibit of her artwork and she has no formal training in the field of the visual arts. “Mankind being created in the image of Creator God, I imagine we are all creative.” With this mantra in mind, Elaine encourages others to dare to give themselves permission to fail. Greater still, she dares them to give themselves permission to succeed in expressing themselves creatively.
