Artist Biography

Christine moved to Strathmore on October 30, 2021 from an area southwest of Calgary. She is a Director on the Board of the Vault Cultural Collective and a member of the Art Selection Committee for the Vault Cultural Collective. She is also the President of the women’s group for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints here in Strathmore. She is currently attending the University of Calgary for a Visual Arts Degree in the Fine Arts Program. Her favourite responsibility and greatest joy has been being the mother of her eight children and grandmother to her nineteen grandchildren.

Her focus is on oil painting, but through her university courses she is expanding her practise to other mediums and artistic fields. She has been involved in exhibitions as a curator, co-curator, and participant for the past nineteen years. Her art is found in homes in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, the United States, New Zealand and Japan.

The heart of her practise and her main desire is to uplift and inspire through her art. Oil painting allows her to capture moments in time on canvas so that they will not be forgotten. She paints the beauty and goodness she sees everyday in the people, nature and things that inhabit this immense and varied world we live in.
