In 2010 John created a newspaper article as a follow up to the book "Strathmore - the village that moved", published in 1986. His goal was to find out what people had done in the past 24 years. The first articles were published in The Strathmore Standard under the title "Our senior's... their history". After moving to The Strathmore Times, the title of the article changed to "Remembering our past" and more recently changed again to "Remembering our roots".
