Challenged Materials
The choice of library materials by a library user is an individual matter. While a person may reject materials for oneself, he or she may not restrict access to those materials by other library users. The Library recognizes that certain materials are controversial and that any given item may offend some library users; however, the Library stands by the principles of the Canadian Library Association’s Position Statement of Intellectual Freedom (link below).
If a library user feels that any type of material is unsuitable for the library, we welcome the user to fill out the "Request for Reconsideration Form" below. Upon receipt of this completed form the Director of Library Services will examine the book and its reviews to determine if any action should be taken. You will be kept informed of the progress of your concerns.
