Covid Restriction Update

Sep. 21, 2021

Due to new Government of Alberta restrictions, the library will be canceling a few library programs and events.

General Information

Libraries are not allowed to implement the restrictions exemptions program.  The library will be limited to 1/3 capacity and will need to abide by distancing and masking protocols.

Programs

No adult indoor programming is permitted.

Youth programs can go ahead with distancing and masking.  We are pausing our early literacy programs (Twinkle Babies, Toddler Time, & ABC Kids) this week (September 20-24) while our board meets to decide how to proceed.  More information will be released soon.

Celebrating Indigenous Makers - Postponed

It is with deep sadness that we announce the cancelation of the Celebrating Indigenous Makers event on September 30, 2021.  We will still be celebrating makers by creating individual features for the artists and makers who were to attend the event.  Our hope is that you will contact them directly to purchase their goods.

Our goal is to run this event at a later date.  It may not be held on Truth and Reconciliation Day, but we feel that a key part of reconciliation is celebrating Indigenous culture 365 days a year.  We look forward to bringing our makers and artists back for an event in the future.

Halloween Costume Exchange - Canceled until 2022

We were super excited to bring back the Halloween Costume Exchange, but with new restrictions, we will simply have to cancel the program until next year.

Friday Fun Film - Postponed

The Friday Fun Film on October 8 will be postponed to a later date.  Details to be released soon.

Signing Strathmore - Postponed

We are working hard to examine ways to continue with this valuable program.  Stay tuned for more information.

Stitch Together - Canceled until further notice

Room Rentals

Groups that rent the library space will be subject to the restrictions that apply to each individual group and usage of the space.  Masking & distancing will apply.  The program room will be reduced to 1/3 capacity.
