Bow Valley College

We would like to thank the Strathmore Municipal Library for including us in this newsletter. There is some confusion around Bow Valley College’s operation in town. Let us clarify that for you.

We are currently located in the Strathmore Centre  across the street from the provincial courthouse and are open to support our learners and respond to  program inquiries. Although we are scheduled to close this location at the end of June, we will continue to provide service to our learners and to individuals who are interested in our programming. The goal of Regional Stewardship is to provide access to education in the areas surrounding Calgary. We plan to have staff available in the community to meet with prospective learners and provide support to existing learners.

For the coming Fall term, we are offering Early Childhood Education and Development, Practical Nurse, Health Care Aide, Recreation Therapy Aide, Business Administration, and Administrative Professional programs. You may ask, “How are you delivering your programs without a campus?” The answer is that the majority of our programs are delivered simultaneously across our service region. While an instructor will be present at one of our regional campuses, you are often not required to attend your classes at a physical campus. Instead, you can login from wherever works best for you, whether it’s your home, a local café, or the library, as long as you have strong internet access for your scheduled classes. Some programs might have in-person requirements such as writing an exam at your nearest campus. If you need academic support, all services will be available to you. Contact your program administrator for help or connect to the program educational assistant.

If you have any questions, our Regional Program Administrator, Lilian Au, is available to speak to you. Stop by the campus while we’re still there, or contact us at bvcstrathmore@bowvalleycollege.ca or 403-983-1221.
