Get Caught Reading a Banned Book

Feeling rebellious? Come get your mugshot taken with a banned book for Freedom to Read Week! You can bring your own challenged/banned book or you can use books from our Freedom to Read week display.

Everyone is welcome to participate!

Express Yourself

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 20  |  1:00 PM TO 3:00 PM

Dive into your imagination to create a piece of mixed media art with provided materials then write a story to go along with it!

Drop-in. All ages are welcome to attend.

Intro to Adventure Games

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 21  |  11:00 AM TO 4:00 PM

Adventures wanted! Explore the worlds of two adventure tabletop games: Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering. Learn everything you need to know to begin to play on your own like rules, cards, objectives, and characters. Then start a campaign!

These games are geared towards kids ages 9+. All are welcome to attend.

Putt & Play

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 22  |  1:00 PM TO 5:00 PM

Join us for a round of mini golf in the library! Test your golf skills with a fun and challenging course throughout the library or enjoy playing a variety of large games!

All ages are welcome. No registration is required.

Celebrate the Freedom to Read

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 23  |  1:00 PM TO 3:00 PM

Come and share a book talk about a banned or challenged book! Tell us what you enjoyed about the book, what aspects of it might cause it to be challenged, any other fun details you would like to add, and even read a short selection if you would like! Make a button that says "I Read Banned Books," have some quiet time in our reading corner, and enjoy other activities!

Everyone is welcome to attend and share a book talk!

*Please note that for all our programs children 8 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult or responsible older sibling.*
